Language School description

ALEC HomeStay offers private, English tuition where students learn English and live in the homes of their teachers. Students never speak their own language and only hear and speak English from morning to night.

All teachers in the ALEC network are:

·ACELS accredited;

·University qualified;

·Located on the beautiful West Coast of Ireland; and

·Minimum 10 years experience in English language training.

ALEC specialises in English examination courses for secondary school students (Arbitur,  Baccalauréat) who require English for entry to  university. ALEC also prepares students for IELTS, TOEIC, PET, FCE and CAE. Professional Courses click on courses. 

Whether you are a mature professional or a student who wants first class marks in your English exams, One-to-One English with your teacher is very hard work and intensive. After the second day, you'll probably dream in English.

ALEC's motto is to inspire and motivate students in a relaxed environment in their teacher's homes where they will not be distracted by students of their own language.

1-to-1 courses mean one teacher to one student. ALEC provides the following courses;

Certificates & exams preparation

ALEC prepares students for the following examinations:

Arbitur;

Baccalauréat;

IELTS;

TOEIC;

Student nationalities, average age & average number per class

Examination students range from 16-19 years. Professionals requiring English for Specific Purposes are in their late twenties to early forties.

Classes are one teacher to one student (1-to-1). One teacher to two students (1-to-2) is possible when requested by the students / organisation.


Activities

ALEC teachers naturally introduce students to the music and pub culture of their respective regions. Scenic tours and visits to heritage listed sites are organised on request. There are plenty of outdoor activities.

Accommodation details

ALEC HomeStays provide the following minimum standard of accommodation and services:

·A private bedroom with private bathroom - no sharing;

·Breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week;

·Access to the fridge and kitchen;

·Teachers share their meals with their students;

·Access to laundry facilities;

·Private space for studying;

·Internet Access; and

·Accommodation included in tuition fee.



Airport / Station transfer

Free transfers from the local bus/train stations/local airport if within 30 klm of the HomeStay. 0ther transfers follow the link.
