GADIR, More than a school… a family
GADIR, Escuela Internacional de Español was founded in Cádiz in 1989 and is an average-sized school, where all the pupils, teachers and organisers know each other from the very first day. Our main aim is to ensure that your time with us enables you to speak, think and feel in Spanish.
The quality of the GADIR courses is guaranteed by the most prestigious Institutions such as Instituto Cervantes, CSN, Bildungsurlaub and FEDELE. GADIR is situated in an independent building in the district of the Bahía Blanca, only a few minutes away from the historic city centre and the beach. Our school has seven teaching rooms, a lounge, a library, a video library, a garden and a patio, all for the use of our students.
In GADIR and Cádiz you can learn Spanish and enjoy a pleasant stay, strolling through its streets, discovering its squares and beaches. DELE Preparation Course
On the first day at our school all our students take a placement test, followed by a personal interview and/or an orientation sesión, and are given an information pack.

WHAT IS DELE?
The Diploma de Español como Lengua Extranjera (DELE) –Diploma of Spanish as a Foreign Language- is the official certificate that accredits an individual’s degree of competence and command of the Spanish Language. It is awarded by Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Education.
Our DELE Preparatory Courses cover all levels of DELE Exams, from complete beginner (level A1) to autonomous (level C2).
We offer different packages with which you can combine your Spanish Course with our DELE Preparatory classes during the same period, building an Spanish course adapted to your needs, availability and objectives.
GADIR is a registered center for the DELE exams.
Courses fees does not include exam registration fees.
Hundreds of students study Spanish at GADIR every year. They come from all over the world – mainly from Europe – and they are from all sorts of different backgrounds. Some are students, others are professional people who need Spanish at work, some have come to Cádiz to live here and others are retired and like to study Spanish as their new hobby.
We believe it is essential that our pupils get to know the city they are studying in and for this reason we organise regular guided tours to the historic city centre, museums, churches and other places of interest. Cádiz, with a population of 140000, is a city with a very active and appealing cultural life – flamenco dancing and singing, theatre festivals, cinema, folklore and opera and theatre seasons.
All such activities are accessible to our pupils who are promptly informed of the events which take place in Cádiz so that they can take part in them. Every week we organise various extra curricular activities, like visiting the most important places in Cadiz, the cathedral, Tavira tower, la Caleta etc. Also we go out for meals together and enjoy the delicious gastronomy of Cadiz, which is a compilation of Andalusia’s most appetising dishes. The produce of the mountains and the sea, accompanied by outstanding wines, will transform any visit into a delicious experience.

There are two international airports located close to Cadiz: Jerez ( Airport Code XRY) and Seville (Airport Code SVQ). Both airports have several daily connecting flights to the rest of Spain and Europe. Following you will find a table detailing the most convenient ways to get to Cadiz. If you need any help simply contact us and we can aid you in the best way to arrive to Cadiz. Remember that you can request a school door-to-door pickup service from Seville and Jerez.
Arriving at Jerez (XRY) Airport or Seville (SVQ) Airport
There is information below on how to get from the airport to your accommodation you can either organize a transfer with us or make your own way to your accommodation.
Option 1: Airport transfers arrange by us
We are very happy to arrange for you to be collected at your arrival airport, and to be taken directly to your accommodation. This is a simple and trouble-free way to start to your course.
Your driver will meet you as soon as you have passed through Customs.
The driver will be holding up a sign that reads “spanish in Cadiz“
All you need to do is to request this service and to make sure that you tell us your arrival details (date, time, flight number, arrival airport and departure airport). Please contact us for transfer rates.
Option 2: Making your own way
Although we are very happy to arrange an airport pickup it is not essential. Taxis are easy to get at Jerez or Seville airport and actually cost less than a pickup service (IF COMBINING TAXI & TRAIN IN THE WHOLE EQUATION).
We do not recommend taking a taxi from the airports all the way to Cadiz since they are some distance and are expensive, but it is perfectly easy to take a combination of train and taxi.
