Instituto Hemingway wants to give you a warm welcome to our Spanish language school and offer you a great educational opportunity. Spanish courses throughout the year, excellent opportunities to undertake internships in professional companies and paid jobs in hotels. Furthermore, we offer international volunteer programs and diverse possibilities with University semester programs.

Our Spanish courses are specially designed to guarantee you fast language learning. Our classes are based on a direct methodology taught by highly professional, native teachers, in small groups, with up-to-date material, a selection of accommodation guaranteed to meet your needs and finally, an interesting program of cultural and leisure activities. Language courses description and prices

We offer a wide variety of Spanish language courses in Bilbao. Whether it is linguistic, academic, or professional, our program is always tailored to meet your needs.

Generally, the Spanish classes are from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., from Monday to Friday. The classes each last 50 minutes. Afternoons are filled with a wide variety of courses along with fun activities, outings, fiestas, barbecues, concerts, cinema and sports. You will have the chance to meet Spanish people, make friends, and practice what you have learned through contacts provided by INSTITUTO HEMINGWAY.

The Spanish classes are focused on the essentials of language acquisition: speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

Lessons are lively and interactive, with discussions, projects, role-playing, and specific tasks. Your progress is carefully monitored and your weaker points in the language are corrected immediately.

Prices are from 150 €uros per week.




Certificates & exams preparation

DELE exams and Certification of each program. Reference levels available upon request.

Student nationalities, average age & average number per class

The max. number of students per class is 12. Most of students are beween 18-35 and from Europe, USA and Canada.

Activities

Learning Spanish should not be limited to the classroom and we therefore offer a series of cultural and leisure activities during your stay. If you participate in this program you will be able to make friends as well as to get to know better other students from the school and, at the same time, practice your Spanish.

The cultural and outdoor activities, such as sports, are intended both to amuse and to teach our students, so that they learn different elements of Spanish history and culture.

The program of the activities includes:

  • Orientation meeting so that the students can better grasp where the school is located
  • Guided tours through the historical center of the city (Casco Viejo, Abando, Plaza Nueva, Begoña)
  • Attending cultural events: theater, concerts, cinema, week-long festivals, carnival, latino and Salsa music, etc)
  • Watching movies in Spanish
  • Visiting monuments (Guggenheim museum, Casco Viejo District, churches...)
  • Participating in celebrations and other activities in order to find out about the Spanish traditions and way of life such as "tapas", gatherings, excursions to Vitoria, San Sebastian and Santander, going to the pool and/or the beach, dinner in restaurants, visiting nearby towns and so on in order to discover the Spanish traditions and way of life.

Beaches are twenty-minutes away from the school; you can enjoy outdoor activities such as windsurfing and sailing (possible at the sailing school). A minimum number of students is required to organize weekend excursions.

My review with Instituto Hemingway

I had a great time there in Bilbao. The School was GREAT!! I loved the city and staff was very helpful. I learned so much that now I can communicate with anybody irrespective of country origin (more than 20 Spanish-speaking countries) I also had time to go around the superb surroundings and fantastic beaches and all in all thumbs up!!

I loved Bilbao! I was right when I chose this city and this School as I did not want to go where all people go due to media advertising. This city is real Spain and I enjoyed very much my experience improving my Spanish with Instituto Hemingway. They do a lot of interesting things
