Your first day at school
You will be welcomed by our staff at 8am and registered in school. After that you will do a short English language test so we can assess your level. This will be followed by an induction talk and a tour of the school and by 11.15 you will be ready to join your class!
The London Exam Centre is part of Wimbledon School of English. Our head office and IELTS and Pearson test centres are situated in South West London in the suburb of Wimbledon (only 20 minutes from Central London) but we organise Cambridge English exams in venues throughout Central London.
The centre has been established for over 35 years and is the largest Open Centre in the UK for the Cambridge English Language Assessment examinations.
In January 2009, we became an authorised centre for IELTS testing, followed by the addition of Pearson computer-based tests in August 2013 – offering our clients a wider range of examination options.
We are friendly and flexible in our approach towards the needs of our clients while maintaining a high standard of quality and customer care.
We welcomed students from 85 different countries and at WSE you will not only improve your English but you will also make new friends from all over the world. Our minimum age is 16 and our oldest student to date was 83!
We organize a lot of social activities for the students, like sport, going to the theatre, weekend trips etc.

HOW TO GET HERE?
We are really lucky to be in one of London's loveliest areas with everything you need on the doorstep and Central London only 20 minutes away. There is plenty to do in Wimbledon – fashionable shops in Centre Court Shopping Centre, one of London's largest cinemas, two theatres, sports & fitness clubs, a swimming pool, several nightclubs and over 200 cafes, bars, pubs & restaurants – all only a few minutes from the school.
We also have Wimbledon Village, one of London's traditional villages. The Village dates from the 11th century and is only a 10-minute walk away. There you can find designer shops and high-class restaurants, traditional country pubs and typical English houses and cottages. Next to the Village is Wimbledon Common, a large natural area (460 hectares) of grassland, woods and lakes, perfect for horse riding, jogging, walking with friends or playing a round of golf. And of course, we are very lucky to be the home of the famous All England Lawn Tennis Club which brings the top names in tennis to our doorstep every summer.
Wimbledon is the perfect location if you want to enjoy everything London has to offer but live near your school and study in a safe and pleasant environment.
We provide enrolment letters for visa application and extensions.
