How to open your mind to a foreign language without having to sit in a classroom (to do so) ?

BlaBla Travel is a new concept for learning French in one of France’s most beautiful regions, the Alps, between Savoie and Isère, where you will learn to discover not just our region but also our food in a local and friendly atmosphere.

Between Savoie and Isère counties, between lakes and mountains, out in the countryside but not too far from town, BlaBla travel leaves you to choose the environment in which to learn or to improve your French, or to deepen your knowledge of it.

With a choice of themes, you will be in charge of your stay. We have planned your stay for those who want to learn a language while at the same time discovering 2 distinct mountain regions – the Chartreuse mountains and the area around Aiguebelette Lake.

Karine and Elodie will introduce you to a region and a language and entertain you (in French). Each week, we will take you to discover our beautiful natural environment and our historical and cultural heritage, local crafts and outstanding regional products.

Unlike other language courses, we offer a different theme each week (sport, gastronomy, wellness and relaxation, handicraft, vine & wine), accommodation adapted to each theme, with the courses taught at your accomodation, unusual activities for all and the possibility to meet local people.

Our stays are for employees, individuals, students, friends, couples or families. All levels.
French Courses take place throughout the year, with 20 hours per week from Monday morning to Friday afternoon.

Weekend « French Discovery Course ».

Our aim is to give you a week or weekend of total immersion with a variety of local people and activities, to enable you to discover our region, its crafts and specialities, and our way of life.

WHAT French COURSES DO WE OFFER?

BlaBla Travel offers language courses of one week or more, and linguistic weekends (Friday to Monday) - A1 to C1 :
- 20 hours of classes spread over the week (day, 1/2 day, no classes on Thursday to allow you to visit the region) - General French course mainly based on oral and vocabulary on the theme of the week
- Conversations (about 7 hours per week) + 3 activities

BlaBla Travel also offers:

Courses for Professionals or Individuals

Individual lessons at BlaBla Travel place or at home or office

We can offer different types of accommodation around Aiguebelette Lake or in the Chartreuse mountains. All meals are taken at your hotel, inn or gîte as well as the language classes. Accommodation will vary according to the week’s theme.

It is possible to have a personal accommodation or that you are looking for another type of accommodation (studio, camping, ...)

We organize your stay from A to Z (from the airports: Lyon St-Exupéry, Geneva, Grenoble or from Chambéry train station, Lyon, Grenoble ... until your departure from France).

The accommodations are selected for their comfort and the quality of their services.

LEISURE

Stay "French Discovery" (free activities):

You will have 20 hours of teaching per week, and three activities :

1 : heritage sites: - Hiking (family type) or by bicycle - Musée de l’eau - Baignade au Lac d’Aiguebelette - Museum: le repaire de Mandrin or La Grande Chartreuse - Visit of castles (Castle of Vaulserre, Castle of Virieu, Castle of Montfleury ...) - Intri'Guiers: the route allows to walk and discover the twin cities of Pont de Beauvoisin Isère and Pont de Beauvoisin Savoie while having fun trying to solve a riddle - Gallo-Roman Museum in Aoste

1 : gastronomy: Visit and wine tasting in a cellar - Discover the cake "le St Genix" - Visit to a chocolate factory or a honey factory - Visit of a cheese factory with cheese processing - Market

1 : arts and crafts: Museum of Woodworking Machines and Hand Tools - Visit to a brewery - Visit of a craftsman workshop cutler sharpener

and long conversations over breakfast and lunch.

Stay "French Tourism" (paying activities):

20 hours teaching per week. The classes take place at the hotel or inn in which you are staying and according to the theme and the season + long conversations over breakfast and lunch (around 7hours)

Craft: Autumn winter : Discovery and use of hive products- A workshop at the end of the day: The bees (2-3h) Observation of the teaching hive - 1 morning: Introduction to beekeeping (outdoor) -Visit and observation of a hive with a beekeeper (weather permitting) - 1 afternoon: the products of the hive -Honey tasting - Making a balm for hive products - Honey PastriesSpring / Summer: Discovery of bees and beekeeping: 1 workshop at the end of the day: Bees and men - The honey: origin, virtue, tasting, making a syrup - 1 full day: Propolis and its virtues: theory and manufacture of a healing balm - The wax and its virtues: theory, demonstration of the manufacture of a wax bread, manufacture of candles-Pollen and royal jelly: theory and tasting -The venom: theory

Gastronomy:Cuisine gastronomique :- 1 day in Lyon with a guide: visit of the market, meal in a cork, visit of the district St Jean
- 1 cooking class with a chef
- 1 gourmet meal at the end of your stay

Cuisine régionale et sauvage :

- Pick-up and picking of wild plants, picnic, preparation of various and varied dishes with picked plants (1 day)
- 1 evening: discovery of beekeeping and tasting of local honey
- 1 visit to the Chartreux cellars
- 1 meal with regional products at the end of your stay.

Relaxation:

Conscious Walk: 2 hours - Meditation and sophrology: 2 hours - Balneotherapy: 1 afternoon - 1 workshop to manufacture a natural cosmetic preparation in the evening

Sports:

Autumn / Winter : - Day in the Beaujolais in the Hameau Duboeuf: a magical world dedicated to the vine and the wine on 30 000m2. All the secrets of the vineyards, their origins, their settlements and their techniques. Museum, restaurant, cellar, tasting, stroll in the vineyards - 1 evening with an oenologist - visit of cellar

Summer and sunny days: - Oenological day in the Chartreuse massif, at the foot of Mont Granier. Segway hike in the vineyards with a winemaker, restaurant, vineyard and wine museum - 1 evening with an oenologist - visit of cellar

You do not need a visa if you stay less than 3 months in France, with the exception of certain countries

How to come to the Lake of Aiguebelette or Chartreuse?
"L'avant pays savoyard" is located between Lyon, Chambéry and Geneva, Annecy, Grenoble, ... a few Kilometers from the first ski resorts and surrounded by numerous lakes.
