About Pintadera
Recently there has been much talk about a new frontier of tourism in which people focus on experiencing a country, city or particular place by connecting to its history, people and culture. They call it “Experiential tourism”: return home with a memorable, unique memory, immerse yourself in another culture and fully experience the traditions of another country.
This has been the goal of the Centro Mediterraneo Pintadera since we opened in 2004.
Our Italian language and cultural courses are an integral part of a broader project. We promote activities that lead to an intercultural exchange. To this extent, language is of vital importance as it communicates ways of life, habits, traditions.
Pintadera's courses and itineraries are such that different cultures meet and understand one another. Reflection on affinities and divergencies create new points of growth.
The heart of Pintadera’s Italian program is the Lingua group language course with a maximum enrolment of 8 students per class and four hours of intensive lessons each morning. From the first week of studies, we take language out of the classroom and onto the vibrant streets of Alghero to stimulate the senses - not only do our students listen to and speak Italian, but they eat, drink, taste, smell and breate Italy.
We motivate our students to participate in our varied afternoon program where they will not only practice their Italian but also deepen their knowledge of many of the cultural aspects of Alghero, Sardinia, Italy.
All our teachers are native Italian speakers, university graduates certified in the teaching of Italian as a foreign language, passionate about sharing the love for their land, its culture and language.
Pintadera is accredited by the University of Siena as a preparation and examination center for the CILS exam.

Pintadera offers a full range of Italian language and culture courses tailored to your interests and abilities.
The heart of Pintadera’s Italian program is the Lingua group language course with a maximum enrolment of 8 students per class. The lessons are normally divided into two parts with a different teacher guiding each segment. The first part emphasizes Italian grammar and structure. The second part focuses on the application and exercise of these linguistic rules in real life settings.

WHAT ACCOMMODATION DO WE OFFER?
Pintadera will help you find accomodations in Alghero. The prices depend on the type of accomodation and the time of the year. Our offerings include:
Private homes
With the opportunity to immerse oneself in authentic Sardinian life, sharing the home of a local family that has been carefully evaluated and selected by Pintadera. This arrangement includes breakfast and possibily other meals by prior arrangement.
Shared student flats
With the opportunity to bond with classmates in a shared apartment and the freedom to come and go as you please.
Independent flats
With the opportunity for complete independence and of accomodating a longer stay. Many apartments are available, catering to the single student or the robust family.
Hotels and Bed and Breakfasts
With the opportunity for independence and that customary special care.
Au Pair
With the opportunity to exchange assistance with childcare and light domestic duties for room and board in a carefully vetted Italian family.
Please be aware that due to the fact that Alghero is a town visited by many tourists during July and August, accommodation prices are considerably higher at that time of year.

WHO ARE OUR STUDENTS?
Pintadera's students are between 18 and 85 but are all young at heart. They have a medium-high to high level of education and come from all over the world, though most of them are European. About 35% of our students are of German mother tongue and another 35% are English native speakers.

Facilities
Pintadera is located in the heart of the old town in an independent building in the quaint pedestrian only Vicolo Adami, right next door to the renown Trattoria Il Refettorio.
LEISURE
Pintadera organizes a series of afternoon and evening activities geared to facilitate the students getting to know each other and the town such as movie screenings, welcome drinks on Mondays.
For those of you that fancy exercising your bodies as well as your minds, Alghero offers a wide range of sporting activities to suit every taste. Keep fit, enjoy yourself and try out your Italian on the locals all at the same time.
Pintadera, in collaboration with experienced local organizations, offers a wide variety of sporting and outdoor activities for you to experience in your free time. Discover the beauty of Alghero's coastline with a sailing course or the rich underwater wonders of the Riviera del Corallo on a diving course or why not explore Sardinia's stunning countryside on horseback.

How to get there
You can reach Alghero with daily flights from Rome and Milan all year. In addition low cost airlines Easy Jet, Ryan Air, Wizz Air and Blue Air fly to Alghero from all over Europe. Please contact us for assistance in getting to Sardinia.

Super Schule, super Lehrer / Great school, great teachers
Ich habe letztes Jahr im Oktober einen 2-woechigen Sprachkurs an der Schule gemacht, weil ich mein Italienisch wieder auffrischen wollte. DerSprachkurs war einfach super. Kleine Gruppen, mit sehr netten Leuten aus vielen verschiedenen Laendern. Die ganze Zeit wird Italienisch geredet, was beim Lernen unglaublich hift. Die Lehrer sind sehr nett und die Unterrichtsgestaltung ist super. Die Stunden machen einfach Spass. In der Pause treffen sich dann alle Gruppen im nahegelegenen kleinen Cafe wo man dann die Gelegenheit hat, auch die Teilnehmer aus den anderen Kursen kennenzulernen. Am Abend werden gegen einen geringe Gebuehr verschiedenen Aktivitaeten angeboten, an denen man teilnehmen kann wenn man moechte, wie z.B. eine Stadtfuehrung oder eine Weinprobe (sehr zu empfehlen). Die Schule hat etwas sehr familiaeres und man fuehlt sich sofort Zuhause. Auch bei der Wohnungssuche ist die Schule behilflich wenn man das moechte. Ich hatte eine wunderschoene Wohnung mit Meeresblick, die ich zu diesem Preis sicherlich nicht so schnell woanders gefunden haette. Alghero ist eine huebsche kleine Stadt mit vielen gemuetlichen kleinen Bars, Cafes und Geschaeften. Ich kann die Schule jedem nur waermstens empfehlen. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder. 5 Sterne von mir. I did an Italian language course at this school last October. The school was fantastic. Lots of different people from many different countries and small groups made learning very enjoyable. You speak Italian all the time. The teachers are very friendly and the lessons are simply just fun. During break, everyone meets in a little cafe nearby where you have the opportunity to meet people from the other classes. In the evenings, there are offered many different activities which you can join if you want to. The prices for these are very reasonable. I can definitely recommend the wine tasting and the tour around the old city of Alghero but there are many more. The school will also help you with your accommodation if you want to. I had a lovely apartment with sea view for a very reasonable price. The school is very small and therefore has a very nice atmosphere. You will feel immediately at home. Alghero is a lovely little town with many little alleyways, cafes and bars. I definitely will be back. 5 Stars from me!
