I have finished two week course of Italian in ALCE school and I would like to share my experience with the others. First of all I would like to thank you the teaching staff of the school. It was nice to be the part of learning process but I would like to start from very beginning. When I first wrote to the Alce staff I kind of felt that it's the rights place to go, they answered my questions very well. After I have sent the prepayment for the accommodation, I couldn't get answers via email any longer. It seemed like once you pay, you are not interesting to the staff of this school any longer. I was really worried that they cheated me out of money. Finally after three unanswered emails, I decided to call them and Agnese, who is the head of the school explained me that there is nothing to worry about. And three days before my arrival at school I finally got all the papers with accommodation details!! When I passed the test they put me in a group with two old men which were over 60. To tell the truth, it wasn't very useful for me as they were really slow in taking in new material. On the second week of my study, we were united with the other group. And it turned out that I was in the group of 9 although their website states that the group is max 8 pax. After they combined us with the other group, we started to learn the same tense we have just finished the week before. That was very disappointing taking into account that I stayed in Bologna for two weeks only. When I talked to Agnese the only option she could suggest is to take private lessons in order to catch up with the higher level group. So all in all it wasn't good in terms of organization!! The good thing about it was that some teachers at school are very passionate about their job and thanks to Carmen, Agnese and Francesca I have learnt lots of useful things.
I don't think I will ever come back...to ALCE
